1098-t
So I have been trying to do my taxes and it has been a struggle because on my 1098-t, box 1 states that I have 13,100$ in qualified education expenses, but in box 5 it shows that I have 38,100$ in scholarships and grants. I have an ROTC scholarship that pays my tuition and fees (non-taxable) and then I have other scholarships and grants from my freshman year that go straight to my bank account which I think is why it shows my scholarships and grants are so much. How am I supposed to enter the numbers so I am not paying so much for my refund?
