1099-Q and 1098-T
My 1099-Q is showing distribution from 529 plan of $65,547. My 1098-T is showing qualified tuition of $41,786. TurboTax is calculating a 10% penalty of $358. How do I tell TurboTax that 100% of the 529 plan distribution was used for tuition AND off-campus room and board, which is not on the 1098-T?
In the form 1099-Q, TurboTax shows 2c - Adjusted Qualified Higher Education Expenses Applied as $56,286. Where did it get that number and how do I adjust it?
Thanks
Thomas
