Do I need to file 1098 T and 1098 Q?
My son is 19 years old and a full-time college student. He didn't work last year. I have the college fund 529 for him. I claim him as a dependent. The 1098-T and 1098-Q are sent out under his name. All the distributions from 1098-Q are used to pay for the college. The tuition is $15,091.55. He has $3,500 scholarship. The box 1 of 1098-Q is $11,955.55. Some people said if it's used for qualified college, I don't need to file 1098T and 1098Q. Is it correct or do I need to file the 1098-T and 1098-Q under my tax or his tax? Thank you.
