I'm surprised I'm not getting an Education Credit. My wife and I seem to meet all the criteria. We're filing jointly, we're not over the income limit, and we're paying for two kids in college. My second daughter has $58K in box 1 and $53K in box 5 on her 1098-T. My first daughter graduated in May, and married in June -- so she's no longer a dependant. Not sure if that might have something to do with it. My first daughter's box 1 is $6,552, and box 5 is $777. My first daughter had $12K of student debt when she graduated, and we took money of out the 529 to pay-off that debt. Not sure if that might be the problem? We/my first daughter has likely already received the credit 4 times. Maybe that's the problem?
