Education
There is no deduction for school expenses, either itemized or other, on the federal return. Some states have a deduction, if that's what you're asking about, you need to identify the state.
There are a couple of federal educational credits available. Tuition, fees, books and "other required course materials" are qualified expenses. A computer is usually allowed. Whether the cost of software is allowed would depend on meeting the "required by the school" rule.
