It's no clear what's going on. NIH has given you a $100K grant, but it went your employer, not you? And them you employer issued you a 1099-Misc for the entire amount? What are you working on with this grant money? Who gets the benefit of the research? $40K was for insurance? What kind on insurance, health? liability? property damage? Is your employer the "institution"? What kind of institution?
