I followed all the steps, put in the 1099-Q and 1098-T and it keeps telling me that (I'm paraphrasing) the $5K will need to be reported on the student's tax from. I'm assuming tax on the profit as when I remove Box 2, the tax goes down. I add it back in and tax goes up.
