Since you received a Form 1098-E (Student loan interest), you will need to do the following in TurboTax:
- Click Federal Taxes
- Click Deductions & Credits

Then look
for Education, click "Show more".
- Student Loan Interest Paid (Form 1098-E), click Start

Did you make any student loan payment in 2016?, click Yes
- Let's get your student loan info, enter name of lender and interest paid.
