Does my son need to report 1099-Q and 1098-T?

My son is a full-time college student. Distributions from his 529 plan in 2020 were all made directly to the school and the total amount of the distribution for 2020 covered qualified expenses (tuition, room/board, etc.).  However, his 1099-Q includes a distribution made in December 2020 for qualified expenses for the spring 2021 semester.  Consequently, the total distribution shown on the 1098 generated by his school for 2020 is about half of his total 529 distribution for 2020.  As I said, the total distribution was for qualified educational expenses.  Does he have to report anything at all?  We can fully document that everything went directly to the school.

Thanks,

Ray
