Q. Do I enter the amount for tuition and grants in the 1098 form even though I didn't receive one?
A. No. That would have TT erroneously check the box on form 8863 that you got one.
After answering no to the 1098-T question, answer yes to the have an exception for needing a 1098-T question. That will allow to enter all the same info that would have been on a 1098-T, as well as any additional expenses you have.
