Every taxpayer and employer, whether a person, a business or a school has a federal tax ID. For individuals, it's your social security #. The school's ID will be shown on any document they issue (1098-T) or you can usually get it at their web site. On form 1098-T, it's the 2nd box down, on the left, and is next to the student's ID# (SS#).
