I'm finally getting around my taxes for this year cutting it close to the pa deadline I know but had a question regarding the student tax credit. My mom is non-filer for taxes since she doesn't work due to a disability but I am still technically a dependent. This year I started college and would receive the student tax credit due to payments made to my tuition. I was online attempting to file my taxes and it said I wouldn't get the credit in my return since I'm a dependent but seeing as my mom doesn't file would that money just be unclaimed
