If I was a full time student for only one semester and I graduated in 2016 does that still mean I don't qualify for the American Opportunity Credit?

If I was a full time student for only one semester and I graduated in 2016 does that still mean I don't qualify for the American Opportunity Credit?
It says I wasn't in a degree program but I graduated with a BA and I'm not sure how to correct this.
