Education
The child tax credit is only for children under the age of 17. You may be able to claim the child as a dependent and get the $4050 dependency exemption and EIC if you qualify. If the student had qualified education expenses paid out of pocket or with loans, you can claim the expenses on your tax return for credit if you can claim the student as a dependent.
