i read the bottom of page 25 of PUB 501 and it states "Earned income includes wages, salaries, tips, professional fees, and other compensation received for personal services you performed. It also includes any taxable scholarship or fellowship grant."
You are correct, it is $5000 + 1000 + 350 = $6350
