Assuming the student is your dependent, and that Box 1 exceeds Box 5, the 1098T goes on the PARENT's tax return. Otherwise it goes on the STUDENT's tax return.
the 1099Q goes gets reported by whomever's social security number is listed on the form.
Please post Box 1 , Box 5 of the 1098T as well as Box 1 of the 1099Q and I will explain the math. Are you eligible for AOTC?
As long as the qualified expenses EXCEED Box 1 of the 1099Q, the 1099Q does not have to be entered into TT.
