1098-T, do I have to file?
All my tuition is covered by the California College Promise Grant, on top of that I received a $1k pell grant. Do I have to file 1098-T? I want to file my taxes asap as I need the money, I am an independent student, and I don't want to wait until February when the school finally sends out the forms. If I do not have to file a 1098-T, do I still have to wait until I get it in order to file my taxes?
Thank you in advance.

Yes, you should wait to file your income tax return to include form 1098-T(tuition). To enter your 1098-T, click here.
If your grant/scholarship amount (box 5) is more than your tuition (box 1/box 2) you may need to report it because excess scholarship money may be treated as taxable income on your return. See Why is my scholarship taxable?
