Yes, but there are limits. You may claim tuition paid in the year paid as long as the course were taken in that year or the first term of the following year. The common example is you may claim tuition paid in December for classes starting in January.
In contrast, you may not claim tuition paid late, in January 2019, for classes completed in 2018.
