Have you located the 2017 online return, and is access locked? Upgrading to Deluxe would be overpaying for this situation. That would unlock the 2017 return, but you'd be paying too much. Deluxe is 59.99 for Federal and 44.99 for any state return, if applicable. An upgrade from 2018 Free Edition to PLUS is only 19.99.
Did you already upgrade your already-filed return from Free Edition to Deluxe by mistake? If so, since it's already been filed, you can't downgrade it to PLUS yourself. You'd have to ask TurboTax Support to unlock the prior return, If that's what you did, I'll tell you how to reach them by phone. They may not even charge you.
If you have not upgraded your 2018 already-filed return from Free Edition, I can give you all the steps to upgrade the filed Free Edition return to PLUS and pay the 19.99 by credit/debit card. The 2018 and 2017 returns must be in the same account.
