Yes, it does mean you are college student. However, dual
enrollment students are not eligible for the American Opportunity Credit. If the early college high
school provides a college credit course, you may qualify for the
Lifetime Learning Credit or Tuition and Fees deduction.
Also, if you are a dependent on someone else's return, you won't qualify for any education credits. If that's the case, you don't have to visit the education section at all.
