Contributions are deductible for Michigan income tax purposes up to $5,000 per year for a single income tax return filer and $10,000 per year for joint filers. Incoming rollovers from another 529 account, however, are not eligible for the tax deduction.  https://www.misaves.com/plan/details.shtml  

  1. From within TurboTax Online and working on your return, select State Taxes.
  2. Select Your State Returns
  3. Select Edit or Continue Return next to you Michigan return.
  4. Select Continue on the first screen.
  5. You can select to Go over Michigan again or Update next to Adjustments.
  6. On the Michigan Education Account Activity screen, make sure to check the box next to Put money into a Michigan Education Savings Program (MESP) .
  7. Continue interview.
