My son was enrolled in college for the fall semester of 2016 full time. Due to some issues he was dealing with, he withdrew from all classes at the beginning of December and received a full academic refund. He still had room and board and book and other related expenses and he attended all of the semester except for the last week of the fall semester. Can I still count him as enrolled full time for tax purposes and get the education credits on my 2016 taxes?
