Form 1098-E reports Student Loan Interest. To enter this information in TurboTax:
- Open (continue) your return
in TurboTax Online.
- Click My Account (top right of your screen).
- Select Tools.
- In the pop-up window, select Topic Search.
- In the search bar, type 1098-e.
- In the results box, highlight 1098-e, then click GO.
- You'll land on the Did you make any student loan payments in 2015? screen. Select Yes, click Continue, and follow the onscreen instructions to enter your student loan interest and complete this section.
Note: If using the
TurboTax CD/Download software, you'll use the
Find function (instead of
"My Account") to search for the topic. (Click the attachment below for an example.)
