You can tell the program you would like to switch the type of Education Credits by following the steps below -
- Log into your account and select Take Me to My Return (you must click this before proceeding or you will not get the right link during the search)
- Click the search box (the magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner)
- Search for "letme" (one word)
- Click the "jump to letme" section
- It will bring you to the screen below "Education Credits and Deductions." Follow the prompts and the next screen will let you switch the selection.
Note: While you may have reasons to switch credits, keep in mind, the AOC is a refundable credit (so it will likely lead to a larger refund) and it is only available for the first four years of postsecondary education.
