Yes, we can help you file your W-2, but I'm not sure what you mean by an earnings summary.
- If the summary is associated with the W-2, the W-2 is all that you need.
- If you had a second job, and all you have is an earnings summary, I suggest you contact the employer and request a W-2.
To post the W-2 that you have:
You have two alternatives to post your W-2 into TurboTax.
Both start out the same.
- You can Import the W-2, or
- You can type it yourself.
On sidebar
- Start out at Federal.
- Wages & Income
- Select Wages and Salaries, or Revisit
- Select add a W-2 for the appropriate person if married.
- Post the tax ID number for the employer.
- If you want to import the W-2, enter the value from box 1 of the W-2
- Follow instructions for the import.

- Select [Change how I enter my form]
- [Type it Myself]
- Enter the W-2 information.
