Did you read any of the previous posts in this thread? There is no class action lawsuit. There is an agreement between Intuit and the attorneys general of the states. You will be notified if you are included in the agreement. It will be several months before any notices are sent out.


You are included in the agreement if you are a Covered Consumer. The definition of a Covered Consumer is very precise and a bit complicated. You can read the definition of Covered Consumer in one of the earlier posts above in this thread.


Just having paid to use TurboTax for many years does not make you a Covered Consumer. Most TurboTax users are not Covered Consumers. The agreement covers only 2016, 2017, and 2018 tax returns. You have to have been eligible to use the IRS Free File product offered by TurboTax for the specific year, started your tax return in TurboTax Free Edition, upgraded to a paid edition because you were not eligible to use Free Edition, and not have used IRS Free File in an earlier year. Also note that the IRS Free File product offered by TurboTax is not the same as TurboTax Free Edition.
