Schedule H only applies to wages paid directly to household employees. If you paid the nanny directly, then you file the Schedule H with your tax return. If you hired your nanny through an agency, and you paid the agency, the agency is responsible for paying and reporting the employment taxes. A hiring agency should not be confused with a payroll service.
