"Turbotax is confusing my individual account with my turbotax business account"
The file extensions for the individual products and TurboTax Business are the same (e.g., .tax2018).
If you have both TurboTax Business and a TurboTax personal income tax product installed and click on a .tax2018 file, TurboTax Business will start and you will get an error.
You have to start whichever program you want to use and then navigate to the file you want to open from within the program. Once you save the file to a certain location, you should see the name of the return in the "Continue Your Return" area.
