If you are using TurboTax Online, use the following steps to change the description of your business:
- While you are working on your return, click Federal on the left side of the screen, then Income and Expenses at the top of the screen
- Click Review beside Self-employment income and expenses
- Click Edit or Review beside the Schedule C description you want to change
- Click Edit beside General Info
- Click Edit underneath Work Description to change the description for the Schedule C business
If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, the steps are similar:
- Locate the search box in the upper right corner
- Type in “schedule c” and click Find
- The search results will give you an option to “Jump to schedule c”
- Click on the blue “Jump to schedule c” link
- Click Edit beside the Schedule C description you want to change
- Click Start or Update beside General Business Information
- Update the business description field as needed
