To expense or to schedule 179 furniture and other assets under $200.
I have a bunch of inexpensive assets such as mattress toppers, tv consoles, sink faucets, vacuums, light fixtures, etc for my vacation rental business (which I file a Schedule C for). When I tried it enter it as an asset in the business asset summary, the software suggests that I should expense them instead of listing them as depreciating assets because their value are all under $200. What category would they fall under if I expense them?
