Lost SS-4 (EIN Number) ....TIN Matching Question and 1099
Ok.........so I'm one of those anxiety people.
I sell on amazon a bit, and I lost my sole proprietor SS-4 years ago and have too much anxiety to call the IRS and get a new one (I know fun anxiety disorders)
I recently had to fill out a W9 for Amazon.
So......I put my full legal name let's say it was "Donald Smith"
However I for some reason think my SS4 was for "Don Smith Photography" etc....
So my W9 I put in my legal name "Donald Smith" and Amazon said "Verified Tax ID"..........
However I still have anxiety that for some reason my sole proprietor EIN was in the name of "Don Smith Photography"
So when they issue the 1099 it might get rejected since I used my legal name to verify the EIN?
However I looked at Past 1099's I have received, and it showed "Don Smith Photography"..as the person on it..... yet Amazon's tax W9 would only let me use full legal name as a sole proprietor with EIN.........
So yeah.......I guess it passed "TIN Matching" .....but maybe they TIN match either or..........
Just worried a year from now I will get some big issue or something........because I said Donald Smith on my EIN vs the Donald Smith Photography ...
Losing that SS4 was not a great thing........groan.
