It depends on what Amazon does with the form. They might overwrite the old information or might have two on file for you. When they say "verified" it could mean they verified it with the IRS or it could be a different kind of verification that Amazon does on accounts. That is really all Amazon process and you can check with them to learn exactly how they handle it.
However, if the IRS notices a mismatch between your return and the 1099s submitted for your SSN or EIN, they send you a letter and tell you exactly what they need for you to send them to resolve. They give you a deadline to respond and say what their adjustment will be if you do not respond. They also will include how to appeal. They send out millions of letters every year and it is a very routine process.
