Yeah I always worry something really bad happens if I get a tax form number wrong.
It says "Verified and Accepted" and it was almost instant after I submitted and filled out the W9 with Amazon Seller. So I'm guessing they instant submit it somehow for verification to the IRS system? And confirm the match with my EIN and Legal Name?
I just always think that if I put a number wrong by accident they will say I did it on purpose or something and some issue will happen. Even though that's not the case of course.
Is there some huge fine if the number is wrong? I'm 99.999% sure it's fine, just my dumb OCD is making my anxiety bad this morning.
