What happens if you submit a W9 twice with the same info?
I filled out a "tax interview" form online for an online seller account (Amazon) with my Self Employed (EIN) number issued by the IRS.
It said Verified and accepted. However because I have really strong OCD I keep having the thought I need to redo it as I feel like one digit was wrong. Is it possible that the number can be shown as "verified" and match my name and yet be not correct?
I really feel the need to resubmit it...........but wondering what happens If I submit the form twice.
The tax part of my account now shows "verified" but it doesn't even let me see the last 4 digits of what I entered so my OCD and Anxiety are really bad thinking I need to redo everything "just in case"......
Anyone know what happens if it is wrong? My OCD of course tells me if it is wrong and giving me tons of anxiety, but yeah before I resubmit the form I wanted to see if I could get an outside perspective to see if I could get a more realistic assessment of :
1) If I resubmit the W9 for the seller account "just to make sure" it is correct is this a problem?
2) In reality, what happens if one digit ends up being wrong? Which I don't think it is because it shows Verified with my full legal name...........
Thanks.......OCD is wonderful.
