if the source is any Form 1040 schedule C, E, F, 4835 it should be automatic if the activity is indicated as qualifying for QBI treatment
for k-1's there is a separate section in the Turbotax k-1 worksheet to enter the QBI info (1065 - box 20, 1120-S - box 17, 1041 - box 14). Note just entering the box info won't generate QBI - it must be entered in the QBI section
