To address some of your questions:

  1. Yes, you need to purchase a specific year software in order to prepare that years tax return.  So in your case, that would be 2019.
  2. I would recommend you follow the interview process.  This is a safer bet that nothing is missed in the preparation process.
  3. When following the interview process, TT will provide assistance in the efiling.
  4. I am an advocate for "if it sounds too good to be true, it generally is".  So for me, I would be willing to spend the $$ to purchase the product from a reliable source such as TT.  This ensures you get what you pay for.  Just to be clear, I am in no way affiliated with TT.
  5. The TT site for TT Business indicates that the state product is additional.
