You can file your own taxes, but you will need to print and mail your return. You will not be able to efile if someone has fraudulently filed with your dependent's information. The IRS will work with you to resolve the situation. You will need to complete Form 14039 to report the identity theft to the IRS. Attach the form to your return and mail your return according to instructions.
