Business & farm

Turbo Tax will not force you to report anything, but sometimes it will continue to remind you of something based on a question you might have answered or on an incomplete entry at the beginning of your return.

The first step would be to check if you have a partially completed Farm form in your tax return:

  1.   Log in and Continue your return.
  2.   Click on Tax Tools near the bottom of the left side menu.
  3.   Select Tools.
  4.   From the list, select Delete a form.
  5.   Check for Form 4835, click Delete to right of the form.
  6.   Confirm that you want to delete the form.
  7.   Check for Schedule F, click Delete to right of the form.
  8.   Confirm that you want to delete the form.

If that doesn't solve the problem:

  1. Click on Income & Expenses toward the upper left corner.
  2. Look for Farm Income and Farm Rental in the blue shaded area.
  3. Click Start or Edit to the right.
  4. Answer the first question, No.

Certain states will also pick up this information and ask questions about the "Farm". If you still get errors related to a farm after doing both of these steps, make note of the state form that is causing the error and use the first method to delete that form as well.
