The IRS does consider this self-employment. (Probably not what you wanted to hear - sorry.)
This income (and related expenses) are reported on IRS Schedule C.
To start entering this information into TurboTax, follow the steps below:
- Sign into your account
- Select Take Me to My Return
- Choose the Federal tab
- Choose Wages and Income
- Select Start next to Self-employment income and expenses
TurboTax does a good job handling self-employment income and expenses. As you go through the program, just be sure to read all the questions carefully and the program will do a great job.
