2024 return has been filed already, also through TurboTax Online.
Thanks for your help!
The "trick" to get the Depreciation Report for 2024 is to get the full PDF of your 2024 return that includes all of the worksheets. The steps below describe the steps to do that. It has to do be done from the Print Center inside the return.
NOTE: When you open your return interview back up, do not make any changes in it since it's already been filed. If you ever need to amend the 2024 return, it must start off exactly as it was when originally filed.
- Log in to Online TurboTax, and at the Tax Home or in the section "Your Tax Returns & Documents" for 2024, look for a link "Add a State."
- Click on "Add a State." (you don't really add one. That's just to open your return interview back up.)
- After the return interview is open, click in the left menu column on TAX TOOLS, then subtab PRINT CENTER.
- Then choose "Print, save, view this year's return."
- The next screen should offer some options: "Just my tax returns", or "include government worksheets (optional)", or "include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional.)"
- The latter has the most pages.
One of the pages should be called Depreciation Report. There should also be pages on each of the assets called Asset Entry, if needed.
I don't know how you intend to deliver that report to your accountant, but keep in mind that regular email is not a secure method of sending sensitive documents. Those pages may have your SSN on them or other sensitive info.
NOTE: Remember all PDF tax documents and tax data files are very sensitive files, since they contain your personal ID info, financial data, and possibly bank account numbers, etc. Be sure to store them safely and securely to guard against computer theft, hacking, etc.
