The Centralized Partnership Audit Regime (CPAR) makes it easier for the IRS to conduct audits on partnerships. Most partnerships opt out of the CPAR due to concern for future litigation if a disagreement arises between the partners and their partnership representative.
The decision to opt out or not should be discussed with a tax attorney who is familiar with your business situation.
