After completing my work in TurboTax, the review tells me I haven't filled out the "Credit Carryforwards and Carrybacks," I am a retired pastor who doesn't own a business. There is a random dollar amount in Form 3800 line 6, though I have no idea where that number comes from. I'm assuming it's from my pension but I have no clue as to how to track that down. It says something about a credit from 2023. I've never filled out a Form 3800 before and don't know how it applies to me. Unfortunately, TurboTax won't allow me to file without the information requested, all of which is Greek to me.
Is it my imagination or is TurboTax becoming more complicated? If so, is the idea to extract additional money for customers from their support ($60 a pop)?
