I figured out my problem. First TurboTax opened and ran fine. Then I installed some new software and could not open TurboTax, even after uninstalling the other software. I restored Windows to a point in time before the other software was installed and when TurboTax worked. Now TurboTax opens and works again. There were two other different posts for the same error, but each of those problems were different than mine. If you just installed TurboTax and the program does not open, my first inclination would be to uninstall and reinstall TurboTax, and to check to see if there are any Windows or other system updates.
