If you aren't self-employed or own a business, then a Schedule C is not required.
If TurboTax asks you for a Schedule C, this means that a Schedule C was inadvertently started or was carried over from previous years.
Delete this Schedule C.
- In TurboTax, open your return
- In the left-hand column, locate Tax Tools, click on the drop-down arrow then click on Tools
- On the Tools Center page, click on Delete a form
- A list of forms will appear. Locate the Schedule C (name of entity) and click Delete next to it.
- On the next screen, click Delete Form
- Also delete any worksheets associated with it.
