You don't have a choice about whether you report your small business separately or on your personal tax return. The type of business determines how you file it. If the business is a partnership, a multi-member LLC, an S corp, or a C corp, the business must file a separate tax return. There are different forms for each type of business. If the business is a sole proprietorship or a single-member LLC you must include it in your personal tax return.
