You don't use an override to correct a mistaken entry. The term "override" has a very specific meaning in TurboTax. It means changing an amount that TurboTax has calculated. That's not what you want to do. If you entered something incorrectly, go back to the screen or interview section where you made the incorrect entry and change it to the correct information. That's not an override, it's a correction.
If you need help getting back to where you made the mistaken entry, tell us exactly what you need to correct and we'll try to give you detailed instructions. Also tell us whether you are using TurboTax Online or the CD/Download TurboTax software, and what edition (Deluxe, Premium, etc.).
