You can only deduct the donation of a timeshare if you donate your entire interest. You can't deduct it as a charitable donation if you continue to own or use the timeshare.

Actually, they have the number of the form wrong, it should be 8283. You can list it as real estate.

If you are complete donating your entire interest, here's how you would deduct it:

  1. Open (continue) your return in TurboTax.
  2. In the search box, search for donations and then select the "Jump to" link in the search results.
  3. Answer Yes to Did you make any donations to charity?
  4. Answer No to Do you have an account with ItsDeductible Online?
  5. On the next screen, answer Yes to enter your donations for 2017.
  6. Continue with the onscreen instructions.
