Yes, personal property tax like excise tax is deductible, if it is charged on personal property, based on the value of the personal property, and charged on a yearly basis. This tax is reported as an Itemized Deduction on Schedule A.
The
easiest way to find this section of TurboTax is to use the
Search box at the top right side of the
TurboTax header. Click on the magnifying glass, type in "itemized
deductions", hit Enter, and click on "jump
to itemized deductions" to go directly to beginning of this topic.
Click on "I'll choose what I work on" to see the list of deductions, including personal property taxes.
