If you have not yet filed your return you can revisit the section this way:
- In your open return,
select My Account
- Tools
- Topic Search
- Type childcare in the box, then select
GO
If you have already filed, then you will need to wait until your return is accepted/rejected. If rejected, you can follow steps above.
If accepted, wait until the return is fully processed and you have received a refund/paid taxes due. Only after the original return is fully processed can you amend (1040X). The 1040X will not be ready to file until mid-February. Do not make any changes to your original return until the form is ready.
