My income for the year 2016 was all in the form of cash; no W-2 or 1099. Will my refund still be delayed because I am getting the EIC?

I have read that the delay is to give the IRS time to match information on my return to the information on my W-2 and/or my 1099, but I have neither. Will my refund still be delayed?
